Depart Accra to the Central Region. Visit the Kakum National Park, which lies approximately one hournorth of Elmina. This wasbuilt by the Portuguesein1482 and wasused for gold and ivorytrade. Lateritwastaken over by the Dutchwho continued to use it for trade but also as slave market.
