SOUTHERN TRAILS : 5 DAYS-4 NIGHTS
Day 1 : Arrive in Lome. Transfer to your hotel. Orientation. Overnight
Day 2 : Lome-Kpalime
Depart your hotel to Kpalime between plains and green hills. En route stop at local sceneries. Stop at the foot of Mount Agou, Togo’s highest point as well as in cacao and coffee plantations. In Kpalime, visit local German catholic church. Drive through remnants of Missahoe forest to Kuma Konda, known for beautiful butterflies. Hike in the local woods before returning to Kpalime. Visit Kloto Craft Centre. Check-in at your hotel. Overnight.
Day 3 : Kpalime-Atakpame-Lome
Breakfast and have a scenic drive to Atakpame. Visit iron smelters’ shops and remnants of Kamina radio station in use by the Germans before WWI and continue to Wahala where the last strives between the Allies and the Germans took place in 1914. Visit the war memorial and proceed to a potters’ village. Observe the industrious ladies through the pot making process. Try yourself at this ancestral activity before driving to Lome. Check in. Overnight.
Day 4 : Lome-Aneho-Lome
Ply the coastal road from Lome to Agbodrafo, a former slave trade post. Visit slave dungeons and a local fishing village. Aboard a local boat cross Lake Togo to Togoville historical village. Return to the harbour and continue to Glidji voodoo stronghold through Aneho, Togo’s former capital city. Exchange with priests then drive to Lome
Day 5 : Lome-Depart
Depart your hotel and drive along Togo-Ghana border to Independence Square and National Museum. Continue to Artisans’ Village and « Assigame », Lome’s central market, realm for famous lady traders, the « Nana Benz ». Visit Fetish market, the traditional drugstore for the locals. Return to your hotel. Check-out and tranfer to the airport for your flight back home.
